Frequently Asked Questions
What will it do for me?
From a well-designed electronic timesheet, it will provide you with live costs on all your jobs, work forecasting for live and speculative jobs, resource allocation, billing and invoicing and linking to your accounting system.
It's all very well knowing the cost, but what about the profitability?
There is a very straightforward method of calculating the profitability of each job and from this each group or office.
What about the value of work in progress?
JMS 2000 has been accepted by leading accountants for the calculation of WIP.
Who will use it?
Partners/Directors through to job managers and to your fee earners and administration staff if you wish.
How do we check the timesheets?
There is a simple workflow where the group manager can review the employee timesheet and change, approve or reject it.
Can everyone see everything?
No. The comprehensive security system allows you to define access levels and relate that access to the classification of your employees.
But who will run the system?
You will appoint a JMS Administrator who will be responsible for the background data, but the system is designed to be delegated down to the job manager.
Sounds fine, but will they actually use it?
Staff will not support IT systems unless there is something in it for them. With JMS 2000, for the first time the job manager can see on a daily basis how the costs compare with the plan and give them the data to take the appropriate action.
Can I invoice from the system?
Yes. The system provides Word templates to which JMS 2000 exports the invoice data.
Is there software on the client?
No... well only Microsoft Internet Explorer. JMS 2000 is a full Internet compatible system, so all your employee needs is that icon on their desktop.
How do you set it up?
You have two options; installed on your LAN or you access an ASP-Hosted version.
Will it link to my accounting system?
JMS 2000 will link to Sage systems, Mondas, Access Accounts and other systems. The link eliminates the double handling of data.
What is the advantage of the ASP-Hosted version?
If you are the client, all employees in your professional team can log their time across the Internet and you can see progress on a daily basis. If you are the licence holder you eliminate the IT costs of running the system-no more Microsoft licences!
